For certified RSOs looking to elevate their leadership and instructional abilities, Valortec offers the official NRA Chief Range Safety Officer Certification Course—a 14-hour program taught exclusively by NRA Training Counselors who also hold CRSO credentials.
Course Format:

Part 1: Basic Instructor Training (BIT)

Part 2: Chief Range Safety Officer Training
Course Content Includes:

Advanced development of SOPs and range documentation

Teaching and supervisory methodology

Emergency action planning and incident response

Diagnosing and managing firearm stoppages and malfunctions

Conducting training for new RSOs

Practical teaching exercises and team leadership evaluation
Students must demonstrate teaching proficiency through practical role-play and complete an open-book exam. Upon successful completion, the RSO is officially upgraded to NRA Chief Range Safety Officer status and authorized to certify and train other RSOs.

To attend Rifle Fundamentals, all participants must meet and/or bring the following:
Student Requirements
- Be 21+ years of age & a U.S. citizen or legal resident
- Be legally allowed to own a firearm in the state of Florida
- Be able to operate a firearm safely
- Complete a liability waiver before the start of the class
- Bring a government-issued ID
Firearm & Gear
- AR-15 patterned rifle
- 200 to 250 rounds of ammunition
- Outside the Waistband holster
- (3) Magazines
- (20 Magazine pouches
- A Sturdy Belt (able to hold up the weight of your gear)
- Eye & Ear Protection
