Threat Defense is a 4-hour defensive pistol workshop where awareness & communication skills elevate your ability to navigate conflicts in everyday environments.

 

Threat Defense covers topics for people of all experience levels and backgrounds.

  • Verbal Commands

    In Threat Defense, you’ll learn clear, concise commands for diffusing tense situations. More importantly, we’ll explore how using verbal commands before resorting to force strengthens your legal standing.

  • Team Communication

    In Threat Defense, you’ll work in 2-person teams. You’ll practice communicating with your partner. This builds shared situational awareness and allows for quicker reactions and better decisions.

  • De-Escalation Techniques

    Threat Defense explores proven methods for interacting with emotional or erratic individuals, giving you the confidence to navigate potentially violent situations peacefully.

  • Stress Management

    Threat Defense explores proven methods to manage stress in the face of a threat. These skills will give you the confidence and control you need to make sound decisions and act purposefully.

To attend Threat Defense, you must meet the following:

Student Requirements

  • Be 21+ years of age & a U.S. citizen or legal resident
  • Be legally allowed to own a firearm in the state of Florida
  • Be able to operate a firearm safely
  • Complete a liability waiver before the start of the class
  • A valid government-issued ID or driver’s license
  • Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes. Also, choose pants or shorts with belt loops. Avoid sandals or open-toed shoes.

Firearm & Gear Requirements

  • None – All equipment will be provided to participants.
  • This is NOT a Live-Fire class. Threat Defense is held at Decision Tactical’s training facility. It uses immersive scenarios to simulate real-life situations.
