What types of defensive firearms and handguns will I be trained on?

In our private firearm training sessions, you can train with various firearms, including handguns and rifles. We recommend using AR-15 patterned rifles chambered in 22LR, 9MM, .556, or .223 for rifle training. For handguns, we prefer full-size duty pistols with at least a 4-inch barrel, chambered in popular calibers like 22LR, 9MM, .380, 40MM, or .45ACP. We do not recommend using revolvers or exotic calibers. Your training will be tailored to the specific firearm you bring, ensuring you become proficient and comfortable in its use.

To participate in private firearm training, all students must meet the following requirements: be at least 18 years old, be a U.S. citizen or legal resident, and be legally allowed to own a firearm in Florida. What do I need to bring to the shooting range?

For your private firearm training session, you’ll need to bring specific gear depending on whether you’re training with a handgun or rifle. Bring a semi-auto pistol with three magazines, 250 to 300 rounds of ammo, an OWB holster, magazine pouches, and a sturdy belt for pistol training. Bring an AR-15 patterned rifle, three magazines, 350 to 400 rounds of ammo, magazine pouches, gloves, and a rifle sling for rifle training. Don’t forget to wear closed-toe shoes, pants or shorts with belt loops, and bring your eye and ear protection.
